The BYD SEALION 5 is powered by BYD’s advanced Super Hybrid DM technology, an intelligent Dual Mode system designed to deliver both efficiency and versatility. The “DM” system allows the vehicle to seamlessly switch between hybrid operation—combining electric motor and petrol engine—and fully electric driving for shorter trips.

With its dual Blade Battery setup, the SEALION 5 offers up to 86 km of pure electric range, enabling emission-free driving for everyday journeys. The intelligent control system, represented by the “i” in DM-i, continuously optimises power delivery to maximise efficiency, achieving fuel consumption as low as 2.1 L/100 km.

When fully charged and fuelled, the SEALION 5 Super Hybrid delivers an impressive combined range of up to 1,016 km, providing confidence and flexibility for both urban commuting and longer-distance travel.
